Steve Albis, Founding Principal

Steve Albis began his real estate brokerage career in 1988 when he joined a Virginia based national hotel brokerage firm where he was a leader in the firm’s sales activities. During this time top organization of hotel brokers named Steve as an industry “Top Performer”. Steve was also recognized with the prestigious “10/10 Award” and twice recognized as the “Top Salesman South Atlantic Region”.

In 2004, Steve formed CAS Hotel Advisors (CAS), a diversified brokerage and consultant firm, where he serves as the company’s President and Principal Broker. CAS provides brokerage, loan consulting, asset management reporting, and property evaluation services for lodging facilities in the Mid-Atlantic and South East Regions of the United States. Since its formation, CAS has successfully completed a diversified brand of limited and full-service lodging properties.  Prior to his brokerage activities, Steve was a partner in a Richmond based hospitality ownership and management company that operated lodging properties in Virginia and North Carolina. Steve was also instrumental in the formation of a family-owned company that operated five restaurants in Central Virginia.

Bob Spicer, Founding Principal (Retired)

Bob Spicer received his MBA in 1977 and started his career in the hospitality industry as a director of sales for a hotel in Washington, D.C. He then was promoted to general manager of an all-suite property in North Carolina and then moved to take over management of two high rise properties in Houston, Texas. Bob then joined a Virginia-based national hotel brokerage firm as a sale associate where, over an 11-year career, he was consistently selected as one of the Industry’s “top Performers” by the brokerage trade association. He was involved in sales of all types of hotel properties, from small upscale inns to large resort properties.


Stephen Albis, Principal

Stephen Albis joined CAS Hotel Advisors in January 2004, as a Sales Analyst after receiving his Bachelor degree in Urban Land Development and Real Estate from Virginia Commonwealth University.  Stephen began his brokerage career as a Sales Associate in January of 2005 before being named Principal in January 2010.  In this role, Stephen has been responsible for the management of the company’s sales team and heads up the capital markets division.

Jonathan Albis, Sales Associate

John Albis joined CAS Hotel Advisors in May 2017, as an Analyst and Sales Assistant.  John is  responsible for property marketing, valuation analysis, market research, and expanding our buyer customer base.  John holds  an active Virginia Real Estate License.  Prior to joining CAS Hotel Advisors  John served as a logistics account executive for XPO Logistics, a top ten global logistics company, where he developed new business through effective selling of brokerage services to new and existing customers.

Branden Gordon, Sales Associate

Branden Gordon graduated with honors from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.  His concentration was Finance with an emphasis on Real Estate and a minor in Economics.  He has also completed the Cornell University Certificate Program in Hotel Real Estate Investments & Asset Management.

Over an eighteen-year career as a commercial real estate appraiser for Horwath HTL (formerly Hotel & Club Associates of Virginia), Branden valued and evaluated over 500 hotels in 36 states and the District of Columbia. Branden has focused on the valuation of proposed and existing hotels, as well as conference centers, hotels with tax credits, DOT takings, highest and best use studies, mixed use projects and feasibility studies. Prior to focusing on the hospitality industry, Branden worked at Harbor Group International as a Financial Analyst underwriting mostly large CBD office towers, self-contained suburban office parks and garden style apartment complexes for acquisition, disposition and refinancing.
